A fair quote, with a few things to pin down.
- No permit is listed, and a bathroom plumbing change usually needs one.Ask: Is the permit included, and who pulls it?
- Labor and materials are priced separately.
What we look for
A good quote tells you exactly what you're paying for. We read yours the way a friend who's hired a lot of contractors would: is the scope specific, are materials and labor broken out, are permits and cleanup mentioned, and are the payment terms reasonable?
Vague lines like “misc. materials,” big deposits, missing warranties and work that's quietly left out are what cost homeowners money later. We flag them so you can ask before you sign.

- Tile and installation$4,200

Nothing behind this line. Ask what it covers.

No permit listed, and the deposit is 50%. Both are worth asking about.
